Here are the awaiting damage pictures. As soon as we get power back John and I will head home and start tearing this out. It's not too bad really. The hole in the roof has been patched over with plastic and plywood and caulked to seal. Insurance claim has been started but they aren't even giving estimates on when we can get an adjuster out or start repairs, etc. Giving that this is relatively minor damage I think we will be prioritized rather low in the list so it may be awhile.

Stopped by your house today and there is still no power. Though we did pass a Centerpoint cherry-picker on Space Center, so hopefully that's a good sign.
Glad to hear the damage wasn't too severe...and hell, now you have the perfect excuse for that study remodel, like you said!
Sorry to hear you got damage. We're back and our house is fine, so if you need someplace to crash just let us know.
thanks for the offer Jen, but we're home and its fine now. We pulled the carpet from the room already (stinky!!) and tore down the wet drywall, but its not so bad we are being drivin from the home. Already borrowed a fan from the neighbor and we are airing out the room. Will post more status tomorrow.
